Ursuline

On May 7, 2010, Ursuline Academy of Dallas celebrated the dedication of the new French Family Science, Math, and Technology Center (FFC), a high-tech learning facility and the first LEED Gold-certified sustainable school building in the Southwest. The day was magnifique!

At the speaker’s podium was Melinda French Gates, an Ursuline graduate and the wife of Microsoft founder Bill Gates; in the audience were Chuck Johnson, a senior designer at SullivanPerkins, and Joel Lapidus, our project manager, both part of a team responsible for designing materials to support the Facing the Future fundraising campaign as well as extensive signage for the new FFC and the entire Ursuline campus. This 2-year project included classroom markers, maps, direction signs, two “Wall of Honor” installations to celebrate Ursuline Academy donors, and the installation of a timeline displayed in the south hallway of the FFC, which depicts the history of Ursuline Academy.

Chuck’s logo for the FFC signage project highlighting the green aspect of the new building was recognized in the latest edition of Communication Arts magazine for design excellence.

SullivanPerkins also designed print materials supporting the dedication, including mailers, banners, programs and more. Our theme for the dedication: Tradition + Innovation = Celebration.

If you’ll pardon our French, it was darn nice project, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to have been involved.
