Peter Buffett

We attended a luncheon benefit (part of the Lunch & Learn series) for our long-time client Ursuline Academy, where the guest speaker was Peter Buffett, a wonderful composer/musician and, as it happens, Warren Buffett’s son.

SullivanPerkins has its own Buffett connection – as agency for BNSF Railway, a Berkshire-Hathaway company, as well as the marketing partner for Nebraska Furniture Mart’s new 400+ acre development in The Colony, Texas (at 121 and Plano Parkway).

In fact, the same week we attended the Peter Buffett/Ursuline event (a concert and conversation), we also went as a group to the September 25, 2012, groundbreaking for the Nebraska Furniture Mart of Texas project. That’s a lot of event-going to shovel into one busy week.

Peter Buffett’s performance, interestingly enough, touched in part on the $1 billion Foundation he manages and its partnership with the Nike Foundation, which focuses its efforts on advancing the interests of young girls around the world.

Well, SullivanPerkins is also involved with advancing the interests of the young women of Ursuline Academy, who will be future leaders in years to come. One of our recent efforts was in support of the Ursuline Fund, which provides support “every day for every girl.” That work takes the form of a direct mail brochure to solicit support from the Ursuline community of parents, grandparents, alumnae and friends.

We also tell the story with a wonderful interactive message adapted from the brochure, which we invite you to see here.
