The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department recently released its one-billionth coastal hatchery-raised fish into Texas waters. The one-in-a-billion creature, naturally named Billie, is a wonderfully wriggly redfish fingerling, stocked with several hundred friends into Christmas Bay in Lake Jackson, Texas, on July 31, 2024.
