Stipple point illustrations have been used for decades in corporate illustrations, especially portraits, and particularly for executives in investment or financial services, in part because of their association with the illustration style favored by The Wall St Journal. They can also be an effective strategy to solve the common problem of receiving headshot photography of varying provenance and quality. The illustrations are uniform in their look and so suggest the coherence of the corporate team portrayed. When SullivanPerkins was asked to create the initial website for Terra Carta Partners, an investment group with deep experience in real estate and capital markets, we chose to take the varied existing photographs of the core team and create our own stipple illustrations.
