We aren’t lawyers, but we are advocates, and recently we
have been helping a new law school make its case, online and in other media. In
2009, the Texas legislature earmarked $5 million of the State’s 2011-2012
budget for the creation of a new public law school in North Texas, the UNT
Dallas College of Law.

In January 2012, the UNT System announced the appointment of
the College of Law’s Founding Dean, the Honorable Royal Furgeson, U.S. District
Judge in the Northern District of Texas, who began his appointment as Dean in
June 2013 after retiring from the federal bench.

The first class enters in the Fall 2014 term, with one
full-time section of approximately 80 students and one part-time evening
division of approximately 45 students.

What tuition rates can students expect at this new law
school? Annual tuition is set at $14,040 for full-time resident students
for 2014-15.

Online applications start in September. You can learn
more at the new website that SullivanPerkins launched in mid August for UNT
Dallas College of Law, http://lawschool.untsystem.edu/
